Farooque Ahmed Arrested: Farooque Ahmed, 34, of Ashburn, Va., was arrested and charged in a three count indictment. He was attempting to provide material for making bombs to people he believed to be members of terrorist group Al Qaeda.
Farooque Ahmed was born in Pakistan but has lived in the U.S. for some time. He took part in a plan to bomb trains in the Metrorail Washington DC area since April 18. The whole operation was a sting set up by the authorities to catch potential terrorists. In this case it worked to everyone's satisfaction.
Employment Ahmed, officials said, was to provide materials to build bombs as well as advice on how and where the attacks would take place. All the time, he helped to plan, he did not know that the authorities were the ones behind the whole "fake" surgery.
If convicted of three counts he was charged, Ahmed faces up to 50 years in prison.
