Notre Dame Student Dies After Towel Falls Video: ANotre Dame student diedWednesday after the tower where he was filming in football has fallen.
Declan Sullivan, a 20-year-old from Long Grove, Illinois, was transported from the complex practice LaBar at South Bend hospital, where he died.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Declan," coach Brian Kelly said in a statement. "Declan has been a diligent student worker in our video and had a great personality and great sense of humor. ... The family of Notre Dame football will miss him dearly."
Authorities were investigating the incident which involved a hydraulic scissor lift on a day when winds gusting to more than 50 km / h, according to the National Weather Service.
