Eric Stoltz Back to the Future

Eric Stoltz Back to the Future, eric stolz, michael j fox, back to the future, mask: For "Back to theFuture" fans, it's a really great time. Thus, it is said that Eric Stoltz was cast as Marty McFly in "Back to the Future, and they shot with Stoltz for a few weeks before it is apparent that it just was not the right person for the role. His comic timing was off, and something just missed. At the time, they scrambled - recast the role of a young, up-and-coming Michael J. Fox - and the rest is history. For years fans have been itching to see some of these images Eric Stoltz, for no other reason than to take a look at what he looked like someone else in the role of Marty, and see why exactly, the filmmakers thought Stoltz was bad for the game.

Images Stoltz filming some scenes have been floating around online for years (see above one), but the producer "BTTF" / screenwriter Bob Gale has always seemed determined never to release the sequence of Stoltz as Marty, because it did not want to embarrass the actor (since his dismissal of the week leading role in producing a major film is quite disturbing in itself). Well, guess what? Times (and minds) have changed in appearance, and the upcoming 25th Back to the Future trilogy Blu-ray, Gale and Co. have finally decided to publish images of Stoltz in a video-on behind the scenes that talks about casting snafu together.

Bonus for the fans out there: We published an excerpt of excerpts of this video and you can watch Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale and Steven Spielberg discuss the "heartbreaking" decision to replace Stoltz after five weeks of shooting below jumping.
