Laurie Bembenek: Lawrencia "Bambi" Bembenek was born August 15, 1958 and Laurie Bembenek Died November 20, 2010. Laurie Bembenek known as Laurie Bembenek was convicted of murdering her ex-husband's wife, Christine Schultz, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, May 28, 1981. His story has attracted national attention after escaping Taycheedah Correctional Institution and was taken to Canada, an episode that has inspired a television movie and the slogan "Run, Bambi, Run." After winning a new trial, she pleaded guilty to second degree murder and was sentenced to time served and ten years probation. Since then, she had asked that the conviction quashed.

Lawrencia Bembenek was a former Milwaukee police officer who was dismissed and had gone on to pursue the ministry, saying it discriminated sexual and other illegal activities. Laurie Bembenek worked briefly as a waitress in a club in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin Playboy. At the time of her arrest, she worked for the Marquette University Department of Public Safety, in downtown Milwaukee.
