Jessica Lal Case Review: "This is not to complain about the cynicism and a thousand faults of society, but to celebrate the spirit of 10 good things," says director Rajkumar Gupta, talks about his film No one killed Jessica ' which will hit screens this Frday. Gupta said that the film is a tribute to the struggle and sacrifices of Sabrina Lal to seek justice for the murder of her sister Jessica Lal. Although much has been said and written about the sensational murder case and justice for perpetrators, the director said he still felt the issue should be addressed on the big screen. "When I started my research on the subject, I felt everything was already there, but gradually as I pass, I discovered facts and aspects related to the case that I felt needed to be told he said.
Jessica Lal,The director adds that even if the film was based on a true story, fictional incidents were added to the film. "It (the film) is not a documentary. Some incidents and artificial situations were added to the sensitivity of the issue." Building the story for the film, he says, was a difficult task. "This whole case had many twists and turns, everything ends and begins. It was a difficult task and I tried my best to create a balance in terms of writing, performances and all other aspects."
Jessica Lal, Gupta is particularly appreciated the cast and said that the actors gave amazing performances. Vidya Balan leasing, which plays the role of Sabrina Lal in the film, he says, "Vidya (Balan) achieved a sensitivity as an actor. A certain amount of vulnerability has been necessary for the character, so Vidya became my obvious choice and it came true to my expectations.
